Conflict of Interest Conviction

The Washington Post September 29 issue has a brief item about a DHS employee's conflict of interest:

A former Department of Homeland Security official faces up to a year in prison and a fine up to $100,000 after pleading guilty yesterday to a conflict of interest charge, according to the U.S. Attorney for D.C. and the department's inspector general's office.

The employee in question helped oversee a contract bidding process that involved a firm with which she was negotiating a job that she eventually accepted.
