October Meeting
Next month's meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday, October 11th at 12:15, will feature a panel presentation on "Ethics Program Self-assessment." Our panel will be comprised of Shira Minton, of FTC, Katie Lang, of the Ethics Resource Center, and Chip Christopher, of OGE, and will be moderated by Paul Conrad, of DHS (FEMA). Panelists will explain how to develop a good self-assessment, will share their experiences in actually conducting an agency self-assessment -- discussing how it worked out and offering helpful hints for agencies planning to conduct self-assessments -- and will discuss how OGE can be of assistance in conducting agency self-assessments of ethics programs.
As usual, we will meet in the OTS auditorium at 17th and G streets, N.W., Washington, DC. Individuals who are on our roster need not pre-register for this meeting. Agency ethics officials who are not on our roster can pre-register by contacting Patrick Carney not later than Monday, October 8th. Ethics officials who are neither on our roster nor pre-registered for this meeting will be admitted upon showing their Government IDs to OTS security and signing in.
