Attorney Vacancy at Federal Reserve Board

The Legal Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is seeking an experienced attorney to assist the DAEO in administering the Board's ethics program. Successful candidate will have three to five years experience in administering all aspects of an executive branch ethics program, including giving advice on standards of conduct issues, reviewing confidential and public financial disclosure forms, creating and delivering ethics training, and answering questions regarding federal and agency specific ethics and conflict of interest rules and financial disclosure. Coast Guard Officer Sentenced to 21 Months for Fraud

A Coast Guard officer was sentenced to 21 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $98,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to wire fraud and embezzling approximately $150,000.  Lt. Danielle Daniese Ferreira, 36, recommended a company owned by her cousin for maintenance contracting aboard Coast Guard ships stationed on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts and then deposited the payments from the Treasury Department into bank accounts she and her husband owned, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Washington Post Reports Lawmakers Updated Financial Portfolios After Talks with Treasury Officials

According to an internal examination of appointment calendars and congressional disclosure forms, the Washington Post reports that 34 members of Congress took steps to recast their financial portfolios during the financial crisis after phone calls or meetings with former Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr.; his successor, Timothy F. Geithner; or Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke.
